Hi
Sorry to have been gone so long. (Maybe some of you are not so 'sorry')
I kind of disappeared up my own ar@#. I've had this lovely epiphany since my last posting but the consequence is the utter horror seeing what a sh@#-wittering-twunt I've been all these years !!!
Do I count myself as being a guitarist any longer ?
Well.
I've got into playing some reliable party pieces but otherwise no. Nothing creative. Just the residue of forty years of trying hard and three trusty guitars feeling neglected.
Can somebody update me on the news on this site ?
I hope that everyone is well. I'm double-jabbed and feeling fine.
Best wishes
Kevin.

Once a guitarist always a guitarist is my feeling. I had a break of about 30 years but now play more than ever but no live gigs which is my choice as I don't yet want to take the risk in my ageing years, although I do have two outdoor ones lined up for August and September.
During the last sixteen months I have kept myself busy recording and producing two albums in house along with my bass player. I record guitars and vocals which I send over t'internet for him to put his bass on. It then comes back for my final titivation and mastering before the physical burning, printing covers and cd labels and marketing. All profits have then been donated to various charities so it's been a win/win.
Other than that I have regularly played on Zoom meetings for local folk clubs despite me not being a folkie and play fortnightly a one hour set on a sports bar facebook page. It is however very strange playing without an audience that you can see in the flesh.
So as you can see I have used the time to be productive during these difficult times.
I do hope that you get your guitars out of their cases, put on new strings and start a new era of playing
Tel
It has not slipped my attention that quite a number of musicians have moved to doing online gigs, whether recorded or live, as Just Tel has. I read that in 2020 or 2019, wheichever year the statistics related to, only 3% of musicians earned more than 1,000 US dollars online in the year. I can't say I feel pulled to become an online performer. How about you? How are you putting food on the table these days?
Tel, what a godsend the internet, eh ?
