Wilko Johnson RIP

Screaming Dave

So sad to hear about Wilko Johnson passing away. He was such a unique talent. His guitar style was never to be emulated and his stage persona was mesmerising. I was fortunate enough to see him as part of a triple header along with The Hamsters and John Otway, billed as, “The Mad, The Bad and The Dangerous.” Not sure which one Wilko was, but his stage presence qualified him for all three!

I found the tales of his pancreatic cancer which turned out not to be pancreatic uplifting, in a way, and I loved the album he recorded with Roger Daltrey when he thought he was dying.

He was one of a kind.
